Job Summary

Large Utility has an immediate need in Jackson, MI for a Project Engineer. This position is responsible for engineering and design of Electrical, Instrumentation and Control systems installed at gas facilities. Responsibilities

• Provides engineering services with accuracy, integrating all applicable standards and procedures on time and under budget.
• Understands and follows company established standard procedures for file structure and standard drawing procedures for projects.
• Must coordinate and communicate with multiple internal and external groups and / or service providers.
• Frequently coordinates with other internal departments including; Operations, Supply Chain, Project Management, Project Controls, Meter Technology Center, Warehousing, Gas Control and others.
• Uses computer assisted engineering, design, and drafting software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Leads and/or assists with engineering projects to include design, plans, inspections, system planning, specifications, reports, maps, environmental impacts, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, surveying, easements, data collection, construction observation, and field investigation.
• Provides planning, design, construction support, and maintenance support of electrical power, instrumentation and control systems located at Natural Gas facilities.

• Application of utility business model
• Knowledge and/or experience with National Electrical Code/NFPA 70 and Electrical System Design/Installation
• Skills to lead, problem solve, and work well in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge and/or experience in utility operations
• Experience working with various SCADA RTU platforms
• Ability to independently evaluate, select & apply engineering theory.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) degree from an ABET accredited program, also accept
• An Associates Degree in a applied science.
