Job Description
As the Project Development Manager, you will be the primary project-based contributor for Parks Project Development and will project manage, represent multiple line of business during planning and integration and perform global process execution. Your primary role will be to anticipate, plan, integrate, remove barriers, and simplify the production of capital investment projects. You will be the centralized planning leader, focused on thoughtful initiative, resource, and financial planning to achieve ideal efficiency and effectiveness within Parks projects.


You will report to the Manager, Parks Project Development.


Position Responsibilities


  • Conduct after action review to collect lessons learned for future projects and provide lessons learned from previous projects to WDI, FAM, and design teams.
  • Provide post-turnover support with WDI, FAM, FOS, and Operations and contractors for after construction issues; ensure that warranty work is being performed.
  • Communicate regular project status updates to Parks leadership and related partners.
  • Coordinate identification of critical path issues, prepare required documentation for discussion, and identify required key stakeholders to support the integration of creative and operational needs.
  • Oversee all aspects of design contribution, field logistics, project delivery, and turnover to operations.
  • Coordinate turnover of as-built drawings; close out documents, attic stock and warranties with FOS representative. Coordinate occupancy of areas by multiple departments after turnover.
  • Participate in design reviews, provide active comment, and communicate design intent to Operations through drawing review and interpretation.
  • Represent Operations during the design, construction, and turnover phases of Parks projects.
  • Work as a liaison between Operations, WDI, FAM, and DPEP Support Areas in the development of pre-opening projects and timelines.


Basic Qualifications


  • Oversee all aspects of design contribution, field logistics, project delivery, turnover to operations and provide overall Operations requirements and criteria to design.
  • Represent Park Operations during the design, construction, and turnover phases of Parks projects.
  • Coordinate required licensing activities including DBPR inspection.
  • Coordinate turnover of as-built drawings; close out documents, attic stock and warranties with Facilities and Operations Services (FOS) representative.
  • You will have an in-depth understanding of the operational realities and multiple work projects underway within Theme Park environments and draw connections within the line of business work to broader work happening across the segment.
  • Coordinate identification of project planning issues, prepare required documentation for discussion, and identify required partners to help integrate creative and operational needs.
  • Manage a budget for operating equipment, supplies, and capitalized labor.
  • Identify and contribute superior Guest experiences to be incorporated in Parks design.
  • Conduct after action review.
  • Provide post-turnover support after construction and ensure that warranty work is being performed.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, integrate work streams, explain issues and provide solutions to develop intricate plans with direct impact to Guests.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience and working knowledge of design software including BlueBeam, BIM 360 and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with construction project tasks.


Required Education


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related fields or equivalent experience.
