Job Description
Community Resources For Justice is a unique, 140 year old nonprofit organization headquartered in Boston, that provides direct care as well as research/consulting services within the areas of the Mental Health and the Criminal Justice/Public Policy field. Our three divisions, Social Justice Services, Community Strategies, and the Crime and Justice Institute are recognized for their effectiveness and contributions to this important work.


The Program Supervisor is responsible for maintaining compliance on assigned shifts for program schedule, program and agency policy and procedures standards.


The Program Supervisor Critical Function Responsibilities


  • Ensures cleanliness of facility and assignment of daily resident chores.
  • Ensures shift incidents are responded to in a timely and accurate manner. Responsible for completing all related notifications and paperwork, including Incident Reports prior to leaving shift.
  • Ensures security camera system is fully operational and used as required during shift operations.
  • Facilitates and documents ongoing supervision of Program Monitors and contributes Annual Job Performance Appraisals.
  • Ensures all shift operations are accurately entered in SecurManage (shift activity, resident spot-checks, medication, urines, Alco-sensor, searches, incidents, drug tests, supervision of meals, etc…)
  • Assists the Assistant Program Director with recruitment and onboarding of staff.
  • Schedules fire drills, room searches, vehicle searches, drug tests, chemical audits and monthly property room audits.
  • Maintains list of building maintenance issues and submits all concerns to Facility Manager.
  • Develops and maintains weekly work schedules for Program Monitors on all 3 shifts.
  • Coordinates Program Monitor training and orientation under the direction of the Assistant Director.
  • Performs other job related projects and activities as directed by Facility Manager.
  • Attends staff meetings and other meetings and trainings as required.
  • Supervises the Program Monitors on each shift to provide constructive feedback and situational corrective action. Must be willing to adjust schedule to provide supervision on all shifts.

Technical Skills


Ability to operate basic office equipment (copier, computer, printer, scanner, fax). Computer software skills advanced Outlook, intermediate Word, intermediate Excel, telephone operations.


Physical Demands


Sitting, attendance, speaking/listening telephones, walking, exposure to computer screens, keyboard skills, exposure to florescent lights, and periodic lifting up to 25-50lbs.


Working Conditions


Will require working various hours for shift coverage which may include nights, evenings, weekends and holidays.


Some travel for resident spot checks and to CRJ offices for various meetings and trainings.


The Program Supervisor Minimum Qualifications


  • Associates Degree in related field, or 2-4 years related correctional, law enforcement or residential experience.
  • 1 year supervisory experience required.
Prefer experience in residential or community correction program
