Summary Of Duties


The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the implementation and day-to-day operations of their designated program option/area within the Head Start and/or Early Head Start program which include compiling, analyzing, reporting, and creating action steps to address data within the assigned programming. The Program Coordinator develops processes and ensures that the program meets all program standards and goals. In addition, the Program Coordinator serves as the leader and supervises personnel employed within that programming.


Education And Training Requirements


  • High school, plus additional courses or specialized training at business or community college, or other formal training facility or program. Requires ability to understand and carry out assigned duties effectively. Requires basic knowledge or training in a specialized or technical field or trade, such as social work, Early Childhood Ed., business administration, and Family Resource.


Experience


  • Over one year, up to and including two years.


Special Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required


  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Must have experience in the Early Childhood or related field.
  • Experience in supervising program operations and direct service staff preferred.
  • Knowledge of IDEA process and services for children with special needs preferred.
  • Knowledge of data reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to be an effective leader.
  • Ability to partner with other community programs and agencies to fulfill program requirements.
  • Knowledge of accessing community resources for children and families.
  • Good organizational skills.


Other Position Requirements


  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license and a clear driver's abstract and continued employment may be contingent on maintaining a clear driver's abstract.
  • This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of agency vehicle to transport participants, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
  • This position is subject to a criminal background investigation and continued employment is contingent on a record clear of convictions.
