Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

• Prepare calculations for field crews; Give specific direction and guidance to field crews; Review and certify completed survey work
• Oversee Boundary and Topographical Surveys; be well versed in parcel, right of way, and easement research
• Direct the writing of land descriptions and maps in accordance with standard surveying practices
• Perform boundary, easement, deed, and title review
• Prepare project budgets, proposals, and technical reports
• Interpret and review engineering plans and drawings
• Evaluate surveys, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials to identify project constraints and the best approach to complete projects in time/budget
• Perform calculations of quantities and volumes

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on occasion
• Knowledge of local government agency standards, specifically IDOT and Illinois Tollway
• Flexibility to work primarily in the field with exposure to all types of weather
• Ability to use scanners and/or drones a plus
• Ability to process scan data and create drawings from drone images a plus
• Valid Driver’s License
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Total Station, GPS
• Must be able to sit, walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop or kneel, climb, or balance, talk or hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects tools or control

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 15 years of related experience
• Current Illinois Professional Land Survey License (PLS)

Location
Our main office is located near the intersection of Wacker and Randolph in the Chicago Loop. We are within blocks of various CTA stations, Union Station, and Ogilvie Transportation Center. Work authorization
Must be legally eligible to work full-time in the United States. Currently DBS is not providing visa sponsorship.
