BASF's Professional Development Programs (PDPs) were created to provide highly motivated, mobile-minded current university students an opportunity to enhance their professional and leadership skills through a variety of diverse learning experiences. Participants will contribute to real-world rotational assignments within different domestic locations. They will explore career options and develop technical and professional decision-making skills, while fulfilling specific business needs. Participants will have the opportunity to assess their capabilities, skills, and interests and gain valuable exposure to BASF's culture, values, and decision-makers.

Program Summary:

APPLICATION IS AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS RECEIVING A BACHELOR’S OR MASTER’S DEGREE IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING BETWEEN MAY 2023 - AUGUST 2024.


  • As a highly motivated rising graduate, you will participate in a 24-month cross-functional program with three, eight-month rotations in various technical areas, including: Manufacturing/Operations, Corporate Engineering, Ecology and Safety, Maintenance, and Research and Development (R&D)
  • Your ability to be mobile will be critical, as US locations include, but are not limited to: Texas and Louisiana
  • Successfully engaging across the business, you will be exposed to the leadership, technical, and scientific aspects of plant engineering, while also working in areas of safety and environment to uphold our high standards
  • Upon your completion of the program, you may be offered direct placement within the organization in a variety of disciplines in engineering and production
  • Potential start dates are June and August of 2024

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success:

  • Upcoming graduates receiving a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering between May 2023 – August 2024
  • Demonstrated academic achievement (minimum GPA 3.2)
  • Commitment to relocate anywhere in the U.S. during and upon place off from the program. All assignments are in-person/hybrid
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future without restrictions or future sponsorship
  • Demonstrated previous leadership experience
  • Active participation in extra-curricular activities and on-campus organizations
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Previous internship/co-op experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Project management experience is a plus
