Job Description

Aquasport Boats is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing of boats and engines for distribution that meet the quality standards of Aquasport Boats. A demonstrated track record of increasing leadership positions and career success required. Experience in boat manufacturing and design is required. Must be capable of supervising and directing up to 100 direct employees.


Key objectives include

  • Planning for increased production capacity
  • Determining realistic plant production goals
  • Driving cost and quality initiatives in all cases using technology, lean principles and good manufacturing practices (GMP’S).
  • Establishing/refining plant policies and procedures
  • Ensuring production and delivery of top-quality boats
  • Creating a strong employee environment through clear and consistent communication
  • Demonstrating extreme leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Vetting production processes
  • Ensuring the company’s production team is well trained and stable


Responsibilities:

  • Complete all necessary training including the Certified Composite Technician course, ABYC standards certification, and basic Lean Manufacturing
  • Must have the ability to instruct and train employees in a constructive manner and must have appropriate conflict resolution skills.
  • Ultimately responsible for efficiency and productivity of all manufacturing activities
  • Supervise all work schedules on the production line, including approving overtime and hours worked.
  • Daily supervision of each assembly or lamination manager or crew leaders
  • Approve all training done by line managers
  • Review labor and material shortages
  • Maintain and adhere to the published production schedule
  • Oversee the line managers to ensure that all conflicts are resolved in the appropriate manner and that any disciplinary actions are taken pursuant to Company policy
