Job Description
Who We Are

Our mission is simple: to rid the world of cheesy corporate videos. It’s a tall task, and our work is far from done. That's where you come in - because behind every pixel we create exists an incredibly talented, highly motivated team relentlessly committed to producing incredible video content that elevates our clients’ brand.

About You

You're starting out in your video production career and have an interest in gear and post production. You're extremely organized, and understand that video production requires diligent attention to detail. You're seeking an entry level position with a video production agency with the intention of learning more about the craft in a professional environment.

About The Position

The Production Coordinator (PC) is a member of 522’s Creative Team. They manage and organize 522’s equipment for Production, and media for Post Production.

For Production, the PC maintains an organized inventory of 522’s Production equipment. They work with Creative Directors to ensure that all equipment arrives on set on time and in working order. They also coordinate the return of all equipment - making sure it returns in working order. If not, they coordinate any necessary repairs. Equipment management includes organizing 522’s production vehicle and overseeing its maintenance - such as gas, oil changes or inspections. As schedules permit, the PC may join Production to serve as a part of the crew in roles such as production assistant, DIT, grip, or camera operator.

In Post Production, the Production Coordinator manages all digital media assets. In particular, they oversee media management - backing up all media from Production, managing archives, and coordinating project files among internal editors and freelancers.

Lastly, the Production Coordinator also serves as an Assistant Editor. They assist lead editors by preparing hard drives, setting up Premiere project files, coordinating transcripts, and conducting stock footage/music research. The PC may serve as the Lead Editor on 522 internal projects (for 522 marketing purposes).

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Review our portfolio of work and the process we use to create successful video campaigns
  • Work with a 522 team member to develop an equipment load-out to meet creative and technical shoot requirements
  • Manage redundant digital media backups on set and after the shoot.
  • Meet the 522 team and understand the mission and core values that drive us
  • Inspect internal and rental shoot gear before and after each shoot
  • Serve as a production assistant, grip, or camera operator on a shoot
  • Update our current equipment inventory

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Prepare project files for Lead Editors
  • Forecast equipment repairs and new gear acquisition
  • Provide constructive feedback to other video editors during the internal review process

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Serve as Lead Editor on an internal 522 video
  • Prevent a shoot from going completely off the rails through pure grit and creative genius
  • Develop, quality control, and deliver final files for client projects
Qualifications

  • Experience using Google Sheets for data tracking and analysis
  • Bachelor's Degree in Film or Broadcast Journalism, or equivalent professional experience
  • Familiarity with best practices for data backups and redundancy
  • Proficiency with DSLR or mirrorless camera systems
  • Experience managing professional video equipment inventories
  • Ability to stay organized and on-deadline
  • Current Driver License
  • Willingness to learn and accept creative feedback
  • Ambition to develop a long-term career at a creative video agency
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere (bonus points for Adobe After Effects and Media Encoder)
