Product Software Engineer Jobs

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Product Software Engineer within our Electronics Engineering team to help support our automotive business. Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. As a Product Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to build products from beginning to end, working with most OEMs. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by researching, designing, and developing Embedded Software. The team you will be working with is close-knit, and values supporting each other to be successful. This position will be on a Hybrid schedule.

So, what will you be doing as a Product Software Engineer?

• Communicate with team regarding technical issues and complete efforts to understand system requirements aligning with design architecture.
• Remain compliant with MISRA and other regulatory standards.
• Ensure products are reviewed for best practice from a Design for Assembly and Design for Ergonomics perspective.
• Establish, and maintain adequate records of technical information, processes, etc.
• Complete various engineering efforts to design, prototype, and validate product design solutions supporting customer requirements.
• Actively participate on programs defined in the APD portion of the C2P process.
• Develop engineered product solutions to creatively meet customer needs.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering.
• C programming.
• Experience in Model based design and Architectural design.
• Knowledge and understanding of Automotive APQP.
• Problem solving skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Proven skills in engineering calculations and analysis.
• Experience with project launch cycles for automotive.

Things we consider a plus

• 2 years experience in an automotive embedded software product design role.
