Product Owner - Technology

As a growing education company in the home school market, we are seeking a proactive and experienced Product Owner to join our team. As a Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in organizing, prioritizing, and assessing work for our development team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful delivery of our products by gathering feature requests, defining user stories, and coordinating sprints. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, subject matter experts, and both internal and external stakeholders, to ensure that our product roadmap aligns with our company's vision and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert for the Edovate products and offerings.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technologies relevant to our product domain, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Analyze user preferences and requests, conducting user research and gathering feedback to drive continuous product improvement.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including executives, developers, and stakeholders, to plan and set sprint goals.
• Refine our agile methodology based on results, client feedback, and industry trends, ensuring efficient and effective product development processes.
• Gather requirements and define user stories with clear acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of customer needs.
• Assist with quality assurance testing of programming modifications as needed.
• Incorporate feature requests into the product roadmap, considering business goals and user needs.
• Monitor and communicate project updates via status reports and metrics.
• Work closely with the scrum team, providing guidance and clarifications to ensure timely and successful delivery of product features.
• Prioritization and maintenance of the product backlog.
• Write acceptance criteria to validate the functionality and quality of the product, ensuring that user stories are implemented correctly.
• Lead developer calls with written agendas to review backlog items and to resolve project blockers.
• Monitor the progress of work during sprints, address production issues, and provide timely updates to stakeholders.

Required Experience

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle.
• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
• Professional experience in the educational market
• Proven work experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management.

Preferred Experience

• Product Manager/Owner (3+ year) or Quality Assurance Engineer (3+ years)
• UI/UX design experience
• Experience working with a Student Information and/or Learning Management Systems
