Job Description
Description:
The Product Design Engineer II will be responsible for full life cycle development of medical devices, which includes initiation, design, development, testing, execution, and product maintenance. You will be responsible for the production and processing of prototypes, patient specific instrumentation and implants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Report progress and status of assigned projects on a timely basis.
  • Recommend and modify existing designs to develop or improve quality and functionality of products.
  • Design and produce new implants and instruments.
  • Support Marketing and Product Management with technical information to be used for training and marketing.
  • Generate, test, and manage the creation of prototype models to evaluate new design concepts.
  • Produce and process prototypes, patient specific instrumentation and implants utilizing 3D printers and ancillary equipment.
  • Maintenance of design history file for assigned projects, adhering to the Movora design control procedures.
  • May require some travel to attend trade shows.

  • Understanding of new product development.
  • 2 years of experience required. 3+ years' experience preferred.
  • Professional, concise, tactful, and sensitive communication skills across all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of drafting stands and basic geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Experience with orthopedics or veterinary orthopedics strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work comfortably in surgical labs with animal cadavers.
  • Frequent us e and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of concepts and principles.
  • Software: Solidworks, Office Suite, and Teams required. nTopology, Simulation, KeyShot Materialise Magics, Asana preferred.
  • Experience designing and using metal additive manufacturing preferred.
  • Competencies: Teamwork, Initiative, Customer Focus, Ability to Multi-task and Prioritize workloads
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to process manufacturing concerns, engineering changes and make recommendations based upon engineering principles.
  • BS degree in Engineering required. Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred.
