GeneDx is seeking a Procurement Specialist, reporting to the Procurement Manager. The Procurement Specialist’s primary responsibility will be performing the purchasing function including the receipt and processing of purchase requisitions and procurement of services, supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as the management of existing vendor relationships. The successful candidate must have strong people skills, the ability to see the big picture, yet accurate with close attention to detail. Sharp analytical, problem-solving skills combined with common sense and good judgement. Well organized with an ability to prioritize, multitask, and thrive in a dynamic environment.


  • Works towards meeting KPI company goals and maintain ongoing KPI reports.
  • Write and analyze requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, supply requests and supply orders.
  • Expedite and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Ensures compliance with company authorized signature levels.
  • Assist in the purchasing functions soliciting quotes, evaluating vendor proposals, negotiating with different suppliers for price, quality, timeliness, and other factors.
  • Works with suppliers on correction actions with mismatch invoices, contracts, purchase orders, deliveries, shipping, expediting orders, quantity, and receiving.
  • Processes returns, scraps or other material dispositions.
  • Work closely with all areas of upper management, accounting departments, finance departments, as well as outside vendors.
  • Maintains purchase order logs, contract terms log and prepares monthly reports as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of contracts.


Qualifications


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with solid skills in Excel
  • Knowledge, experience and/or willing to work in a startup environment
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast paced, team oriented environment and work independently.
  • Minimum of one year business experience in a high volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to multi-task effectively

Budgeted pay range: $44,000 - $88,000
