About LOVB (League One Volleyball)


League One Volleyball (LOVB) is reimagining women's sports. Launched in 2019, our company is a mission-led sports performance, training and media enterprise that will change the game of volleyball in the USA and empower new generations of female athletes.


It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Womens Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls' youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands and media.


LOVB will capture this opportunity by creating a strong club business and from that built-in audience and fandom create the best Pro League in the world and use a digital media platform that will connect all aspects of LOVB. This community-up approach will drive participation and fandom, while enabling greater empowerment for girls and young women living this amazing sport.


The role


As the Pro League Marketing Lead, you will lead the marketing strategy and planning, and participate in brand strategy related to the Pro League, from planning to launch to expansion. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for establishing some of our key strategic pillars, advancing our priorities while driving and executing all campaigns and projects.


You will oversee all Pro marketing activities and coordinate cross-functionally with Marketing, Club, Finance, Strategy, Legal et al. to guarantee consistency and optimization.


In the first few months, some of the highly visible challenges and initiatives will include:


Strategic Creation and Execution


  • Contributing to a multichannel content strategy to build the Pro audience, in collaboration with the VP Marketing & Content and COO Pro League
  • Developing the Pro marketing strategy in collaboration with the key stakeholders in the Pro and Marketing organizationsLead multiple cross-functional work streams including creative work process, consumer knowledge, marketing campaign rollout and execution
  • Contribute to the Pro media strategic plans
  • Providing support to the COO/Pro team by delivering updates on a regular basis and assisting the team before and during key internal/external moments


Pro Branding and Leadership


  • Continually raise standards and create/improve the internal marketing process to increase the team's efficiency and quality of execution
  • Establish and protect the Pro brand identity in collaboration with internal and external partners
  • Manage the development of Pro teams website, social channels & other marketing platforms
  • Identify calendar moments to maximize the merchandising opportunities,and plan integrated promotional campaigns around key LOVB and teams products


Requirements


  • Solid knowledge of marketing, advertising, retail management and media industry
  • Previous leadership experience and marketing data analytics
  • 8+ years in a marketing organization, ideally targeting the sports fans
  • Proven experience building omni-channel and online-to-offline marketing strategies
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing / Business preferred,
  • Experience in team management

Location:


  • Flexibility to work anywhere in the US with willingness to travel for regular offsites and other business related destinations
  • Reports to the VP Marketing based in Texas
