This is a full-time Assistant Director management position at a very busy owner operated child care center. If you are tired of excessive turnover and 10-12 hour work days, most spent in a classroom then continue reading. We are hiring immediately for an experienced Assistant Director for our private child care center to fit the mold that we have created. Experience:
- Ability to work in teams and in small groups to accomplish goals
- Impeccable attendance record with verified employer references
- A desire to build lasting relationships with employees, families and vendors
- Must be administrator-qualified or willing to become administrator-qualified in the state of Ohio
- A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; Or Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
- Cheerful, energetic demeanor with the upmost of positivity
- Experience managing a staff of 30+ people
- Minimum of One Year of lead teacher classroom teaching experience in an early childhood center
- Minimum of One Year of experience in management in the child care industry
- Experience in event planning and execution a must
- Actively develops and maintains positive staff relationships and family partnerships
- Helps the Director and Owners operate and manage all aspects of the school, including business management, education and continual learning and development, campus environment, and marketing and communications
- Participates in the selection and hiring of teaching staff
- Responsible for opening the school before 6:30 am Monday through Friday by following a daily management opening checklist; managing the morning schedule, greeting families and overseeing compliance of company policies & procedures
- Understands and has strong working knowledge of curriculum, classroom management and health & safety
- Assists in the responsibility to manage operation of the school in the Director’s absence
- Coordinates with other members of the Leadership Team to implement the training plan for new teaching staff
- Confidently make scheduling / operations decisions
- Assists the Director and Owners with the necessary management responsibilities to ensure maximum enrollment and effective cost control
- Creates a culture of engagement by empowering teachers to find solutions for themselves but also assists in providing direction
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Ability to perform all of the essential functions for each position in the School, including, but not limited to, other leadership team positions, teacher, food service teacher, and bus driver
