Printer Repair Technician Jobs

SUMMARY

Disassembles, repairs, assembles and tests a variety of makes and models of photo printers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Refers to diagnostic tool designed for each printer.
• Tests the repaired product to ensure quality standards are met. Completes quality control and/or unit verification forms.
• Cross trains in repairing multiple printers/products.
• Checks for obvious defects, cleans printer, adjusts and replaces parts as needed.
• Checks for part defects; cleans, adjusts and replaces parts as needed to ensure a quality product.
• Uses a variety of hand tools to install components, including screwdriver, pliers, etc.
• Inspects work as steps are performed and completes quality check checklist as required by customer and/or AES. Ensures all parts are fitted and installed properly.
• Transports photo printers to and from the designated storage area and workstation.
• Complies with all safety policies required to perform each job task in a safe manner. Maintains a neat, orderly and clean work area.
• Disassembles units based on drawings, engineering specifications, manufacturing documentation and/or standard work procedures. Interprets measurements and verifies specifications. Follows standard procedures when repairing printers.
• Listens to verbal instructions from designated trainer/leader.
• Assists in the creation of supporting documentation for new products.
• Performs other duties as directed by leadership.
• Applies labels per requirements.
• Reads parts list. Determines if all parts are present. Obtains correct parts for work steps by referring to the available documentation and collecting items from stock location, cross referencing the part numbers.
• Views, studies and interprets work instructions and/or diagrams.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience working a in an assembly role preferred.
• Previous experience reading diagrams and work instructions helpful.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of productivity while achieving quality workmanship to achieve established metrics.
• Ability to read diagrams or schematics very helpful.
• Interpersonal skills required to work in a team environment.
• Ability to cross reference part numbers.
• Mechanical aptitude beneficial.
• Ability to follow oral and written policies, procedures and instructions.

• Consistent attendance with occasional off-shift support required.
• Frequent use of hand tools, including screwdrivers, priers, wrenches, etc.
• Frequent bending, stooping and walking.
• Occasionally required to lift 35-60 pounds without assistance to waist or shoulder height in order to disassemble, repair and assemble photo printers.
• Frequent standing at a workstation to perform disassembly, repair and assembly work.
• Occasional computer work.
