INFINITEK are proud to be partnered with a VC-backed, stealth-mode biotech company specializing in RNA-focused drug discovery. With our proprietary suite of platform technologies, we identify small molecule modulators of mRNA processing and protein levels. As we prepare to scale out of stealth mode, we are seeking a talented Principal Scientist to join our team.

Job Summary:

As the Principal Scientist, you will play a crucial role in building and leading a team of 3-5 RNA Scientists. You will contribute to the company's growth and success by overseeing the scientific aspects of our molecular biology and biochemistry research, with a primary focus on RNA biology. Your expertise will be instrumental in advancing our platforms, identifying new targets, and developing innovative small molecules and therapies.

Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership: Build and oversee a team of scientists in the molecular biology/biochemistry field, specializing in RNA biology. Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment within the team.
2. Experimental Design and Execution: Design and develop cell lines as probes for high-throughput screening (HTS) on various targets using cutting-edge molecular biology and biochemistry techniques in human cells.
3. Communication and Collaboration: Present findings and discoveries to the board of directors and partnering labs, effectively communicating the scientific rationale and implications. Play a key role in delivering experimental findings to investors ahead of the Series A funding round.
4. Platform Expansion: Focus on expanding our platforms for new targets, leading to the discovery of novel small molecules and the development of new therapeutic approaches.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, or a related field.
2. Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in biotech/biopharma environments, encompassing drug discovery, high-throughput screening, and/or compound identification.
3. Technical Expertise: Hands-on research experience in high-throughput screening, RNA biology, and/or mRNA splicing.
4. Team Management: Demonstrated managerial experience in building and leading a team of scientists with a mission-driven focus.
