Park Place School Principal

Park Place School (PPS) is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Principal.PPS serves students in grades three through eight and provides developmentally appropriate learning experiences. It is the Principal’s responsibility to ensure that the spiritual and academic programs of the school are aligned with the mission, vision, and goals of PPS.

The ideal candidate will be:

●Visionary and energetic teambuilder, and thoughtful decision maker

●Experienced educator who promotes high academic expectations in a positive learning environment

●Experienced in Biblical integration throughout the curriculum

●A skilled communicator with parents and students

The Principal:

●Ensures all policies, procedures and practices are consistent with scripture, the vision, mission, and educational and spiritual philosophies of PPS.

●Ensures compliance with the Matthew 18 Principle

●Supervises classroom instruction

●Develops and maintains working relationships with faculty and staff, students, parents and community partners

●Honors God through a disciplined environment

●Understand and supports the financial requirements of a non-profit organization

QUALIFICATIONS:

●Master’s degree preferred

●Bachelor’s degree and teacher certification or equivalent

●ACSI Administrator Certification preferred

●Five or more years of classroom teaching experience with 3 years of supervisory experience

●Excellent verbal, visual, written and interpersonal communication skills

●Proficient in basic technology applications

●Training in Christian Philosophy of Education

●Committed to on-going Christian growth and personal relationship with Jesus Christ

Park Place School started 26 years ago as an urban school focusing on the developmental needs of students in the Park Place Community of Norfolk. The mission of PPS is to build strong spiritual and academic foundations to prepare students for success. We are committed to strengthening our students in core academic areas. Our students will become competent to speak and write effectively, and they will become proficient in the sciences and math. Most importantly, our students will learn how to be Jesus’ followers and become lights in the world that desperately needs Christ.
