We are currently recruiting for a Press Helper to join our Production Team! This role will assist the Press Operators by operating the feeder and consistently keeping the press running, keeping the inks and water full during operation and assisting with maintenance and training on the press as needed.


  • Assists in other departments as needed and when work load permits.
  • Follows guidance and direction from Press Operator.
  • Checks cutting slip to verify count of stock is accurate prior to running, communicates discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Assists in set-up of machines for operators.
  • Understands ISO and complies with written procedures.
  • Ensures make-ready times and materials used are minimized through proper planning of work.
  • Cleans up and keeps the pressroom work areas neat, clean and orderly.
  • Winds/turns stock.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • Follows quality standards, maintains close tolerances, performs quality checks
  • Changing and loading rolls on press
  • Follows daily schedule for workload and communicates problems or concerns, assisting in resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Helps coordinate production jobs.
  • Maintains a high level of print quality to eliminate inspection delays and redo's.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on press such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning and minor adjustments to rollers and other small moving parts.
  • Wears appropriate safety protection when using or mixing chemicals and ensures proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.

  • Assists Lead press operator with his/her duties, including
  • Cleans up and keeps the pressroom work areas neat, clean and orderly.
  • Keeps work areas clear and organized; maintains housekeeping standards.
  • Maintains operating required production documentation
  • “Washing” (cleaning) press
  • Assists operators in using other pressroom equipment.
  • Maintains knowledge of safety requirements of the job and equipment; becomes familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets regarding chemicals in use.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Checking register (print alignment and quality)


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION


  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to walk, stand or bend for 12 hours.
  • Knowledge of basic math including weights, measures, fractions, and decimals
  • Some previous printing or bindery experience helpful
  • Must be able to adhere to all safety rules
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good visual acuity and color vision
  • Ability to work on rotating shift three days a week
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
