Preschool Assistant Teacher (Full-Time)

The Longwood Medical Area Childcare Center (LMACCC), located in the Longwood area of Boston, is looking for a full-time Assistant Teacher to work in our Preschool classrooms Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

Essential Functions:

• Assist the Program Coordinator, when appropriate, in the supervision and the general maintenance of all aspects of the classroom program
• Serve as a cooperative and supportive member of a team, both in the classroom and in the Center.
• Foster positive relationships, interactions and communication between staff and parents, parents and children, and children and their peers
• Provide a safe and quality environment that appropriately meets the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of young children.
• Be involved with planning and implementing daily activities and curriculum to help promote positive social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and openness to new ideas and/or approaches.
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple situations effectively.
• Ability to physically lift a minimum of 35 pounds, participate in physical activities including walks with children, maintain full sight and sound supervision of children at all times to ensure their safety, and work both indoors and outdoors.
• Excellent communications skills with the ability to speak, read, and write English.
• High School Diploma/GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and team player skills.
