Areas is seeking for an amazing energetic associate to join our team as a Prep Cook in one of our restaurants located within Terminal 1 of the Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport.

Broad Functions:
Cook and prepare a variety of food products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the Daily Prep List.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Standards - Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
  • Communication - Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Manager.
  • Team - Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
  • Equipment - Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
  • Planning - Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
  • Sanitation - Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, walls grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
  • Protocol - Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
  • Preparation - Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties.


Position Details:

  • Schedule: Early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Hourly Rate: $18.20

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Physical - Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Energy - Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Details - Strong attention to detail.
  • Availability - Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs.
  • Communication - Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking. or at least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.

Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

The associate is also occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and either lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
