Job Description

A postdoctoral researcher will participate in a translational autism research project funded by the Department of Defense. This project aims to assess the efficacy of peptides as a new drug for autism, particularly in neuronal morphology and neural circuits during brain development. A postdoctoral researcher is responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing results, preparing figures and manuscripts for publication, presenting the results in seminars and conferences, and assisting graduate and undergraduate students.


Responsibilities

Design and execute experiments

Animal care and colony maintenance

Data analysis

Manuscript and figure preparation for publication

Present findings at conferences and in seminars

Assist in training junior lab members

Meet with PI and other lab members


Required and preferred experience

Required Major / Concentration: Neuroscience or related discipline

Required Years of Experience: 0 postdoctoral years


Other Requirements:

• Ability to independently design and execute experiments and interpret data

• Hands-on experiences in cell cultures, microscopies, animal(mice) handling, and general molecular biological experiments.

• Strong record of peer-reviewed publications

• Outstanding oral and written skills in English


Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in primary neuronal culture, live imaging in vitro and ex vivo, survival brain surgery in rodents, and animal behavioral tests
