About The Investment Team/Overview


Team manages $8.4B in listed real estate securities assets across the globe consisting of domestic, global and regional mandates with a performance track record beginning in 1993. The global listed real estate team spans 17 investment professionals across the platform with this opportunity to join our domestic team in Chicago to fill an open analyst position.


The Investment team is looking for a data analyst with financial analytical skills to bring data and predictive modeling skills to a seven person US based long only equities investment team.


Your Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop ability to communicate conviction levels on individual stocks held in portfolios for assigned sectors
  • Gather and analyze data from company financial statements, supplemental statements, and other sources, including third party and internal property sector research
  • Build and maintain database and models that help determine macro drivers and financial data of companies under coverage as well as earnings/valuation models for companies within investment universe
  • Work closely with other analysts and portfolio managers to assist in company and sector analysis
  • Meet regularly with, and present recommendations/written summaries to Portfolio Managers; interact with investment management/research staff/brokers/company management/traders/outside investment analysts/etc.


Your Skills & Experience:


  • Proficient in Data Analytics/Data Visualization/Automation using Python/R/SQL
  • Desire to be a junior member of an investment team and interest in producing original work product
  • Basic finance/accounting skills
  • Experience and advanced understanding of Excel/VBA
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and within a close group setting
  • BA or BS required with 0-2 years work experience
