Porter (1St Shift) 7Am-3:30Pm M-F

Job Summary:

Will keep building, grounds, plant, and offices clean and in orderly condition.

Responsibilities:

• Separate and repair all damaged pallets using designated tools and equipment.
• Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders or scaffolding to prepare facility for events and meetings
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
• Check electrical appliance use to ensure hazards are avoided
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
• Follow procedures for the use of the chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
• Clean, paint, and repair areas as needed.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen sinks, floors, and drains
• Performs routine maintenance
• Control sanitation equipment and chemicals to prevent cross contamination
• Gather and empty trash in offices and around the building
• Other duties as assigned.
• Steam clean and/or shampoo carpets
• Service, clean, and supply all restrooms
• Identify needed repairs and notify management as necessary
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
• Monitors building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges or squeegees
• Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties; Suggest changes to chemicals and procedures to improve sanitation
• Identify and report sanitation issues that may compromise workplace or food safety
• Strip, seal, finish and polish floors
• Separate and compact trash, plastic, cardboard, and all recyclable material using designated equipment.

• HS Diploma or GED
• Ability to operate compactor machines
• Regular stooping, kneeling, climbing, bending at the waist, reaching and handling
• Able to work 40+ hours per week on feet in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in an environment with recurrent exposure to chemicals and industrial cleaning products
• Previous experience as a custodian or porter preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to read and write English
• Ability to work in cold and hot temperatures
• Must have availability to work weekends and overtime as needed
• Work in an environment that is dusty and may contain spices with high heat.
• Ability to lift 15lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Walk long distances repeatedly and climb stairs or ladders.
