Job Description
Salary Range: $13.65 - $18.70 hourly


Job Summary


The Pool Technician is responsible for the maintenance of pools. Also making sure that all pools are safe to use by treating and maintaining the water. This person will need to be able to solve on-the-job pool maintenance issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision-making skills.


Experience, Knowledge, Skills


  • Current certifications in: Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator, First Aid, and CPR.


Essential Functions


  • Assist with outdoor pool openings before summer season
  • Maintains the proper chemical balance for every pool
  • Responds to swimming pool related work orders in a timely and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery or equipment.
  • Log, reports, and communicates in a timely manner equipment faults or water quality problems to supervisor.
  • Operates and inspects tools and equipment and makes minor adjustments and repairs.
  • Diagnoses, repairs, and maintains swimming pools, splash parks, filter systems, and pumps
  • Maintains manual records of all activities and prepares daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Maintains the pH and chlorine values for good water quality.


Work Environment And Physical Requirements


  • Work can be in adverse weather or extremely hot conditions and may be exposed to dust, fumes and chemicals.
  • Strength and stamina to stand, sit, walk, stretch, lift, bend, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Required to work variable hours including some mornings, afternoons, early evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • May be exposed to loud noises, bodily fluids, cleaning solutions, dust, and fumes.
  • Frequent interruptions and heavy public contact.
  • Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors, with outdoor work taking place when the outdoor pools are in operation.
  • Vision to perform physical activities, read computer screens and keyboards, as well as reference books and other written documents.
