Policy and Governance SME
***This position requires an active DoD Secret clearance clearance.***
Provide policy monitoring and coordination support and systems guidance and governance support. Support the cybersecurity initiatives and provide support to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Risk Management Executive Division. Provide NIWC Atlantic/DHA RMF Process support.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Policy & Governance SME: $90K- $110K
Pay commensurate with experience.

Policy & Governance SME Responsibilities Include:
  • Reviews enterprise-wide cybersecurity business processes for compliance with DoD and DHA policy in support of the information technology acquisition life cycle.
  • Assists program leadership with status reports, white papers, weekly activity report, and other ad hoc requirements as necessary.
  • Reviews published/emerging DoD cybersecurity policy/guidance and provide analysis of potential impacts for DHA policy.
  • Reviews system documentation and coordinate with system owners to gather information in support of cybersecurity assessment.
  • Supports DHA communications with DoD Veteran Affairs (VA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and other overarching policy/direction entities.
  • Provides daily/weekly summary report (CDRL A002).
  • Determines possible options for system assessment and authorization.
  • Performs system assessments with a focus on cybersecurity policy.
  • Identifies cybersecurity concerns and risks.
  • Provides recommended options for system assessment and authorization.
  • Monitors/assesses Federal Law, Executive Agency Policy / Publications, and other sources of cybersecurity guidance for impact to the DHA Cyber Security program.
  • Provides analysis of existing/emerging cybersecurity policies across services / agencies that are consolidated under DHA structure.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Creates, reviews or revises cybersecurity documents (such as memos, informational papers, briefs) to support sharing policy/guidance information with the DHA community.
Policy & Governance SME Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Ability to sign and abide by a non-disclosure agreement.
  • Ability to be flexible, dependable, and multi-task with evolving priorities.
  • Working knowledge of researching and writing white papers, compliance reports, and assessment reports in support activities for defining policy.
  • Working knowledge of developing briefing materials, administrative, and logistic support.
  • Working knowledge of Combatant Commands.
  • Excellent Senior Leadership and General Officer / Flag Officer (GO/FO) leadership briefing skills.
  • Working knowledge of DHA mission and environment.
  • 12 years of experience. Federal government contracting experience required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Working knowledge in researching and writing white papers, compliance reports, and assessment reports in support activities for defining policy.
  • Working knowledge of DoD Networks.
  • Must possess IAT Level I / IAM Level I, II, III certification.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) enabling precise conveyance of information across all customer sections and proper enunciation of the English language.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
  • Working knowledge of USCYBERCOMMAND and JFHQ-DODIN Cyber Tasking Orders (CTO).
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Cybersecurity
  • Working knowledge of the DoD orders process.
