CHARLES TOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT Charles Town Police Department Notice of Open Position and Examinations The Charles Town Police Department is seeking qualified applicants to be appointed to the position of Probationary Police Officer. The current salary for this position is $49,974 for a WV certified police officer and $48,755 for an uncertified individual. Effective July 1st, 2023, the salary for this position will be $54,323 for a WV certified police officer and $52,998 for an uncertified individual. Generous benefits are provided. Current West Virginia Law Enforcement Certification upon hire are eligible to receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Current out-of-state Law Enforcement Certification upon hire are eligible to receive a $5,000 sign on bonus. Non- Certified Applicants upon hire are eligible to receive a $2,500 sign on bonus.
