Portland Public Schools is looking for an experienced plumber to help maintain school and district buildings across the city of Portland. The selected candidate will join a team of multicraft tradespersons as part of the Maintenance Services Department which is dedicated to serving our schools, ensuring students have safe and comfortable learning environments.
WHAT WE OFFER
Salary Range: $42.65 - $46.92
- Step 1 will automatically increase to $43.93 on 7/1/2023.
- Hires are placed at step 1 and eligible for additional step increases per their bargaining unit (DCU).
Work Schedule: This is a year-round position working full-time (40 years a week), Monday to Friday, with optional overtime opportunities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education/Training: Completion of a State of Oregon qualified apprenticeship program in a related field;
OR
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems;
OR
- A combination of related training and experience which equals five (5) years.
License or Certificate Required:
- Special Requirements: Employees in this classification are required to obtain and maintain, throughout the course of employment, certification of successful completion of a Class III Asbestos Abatement course meeting EPA requirements for training local education agency maintenance and custodial staff [40 CFR 763.92(a)(2)].
- Desired State of Oregon Credentials: An Industry Brazing Certificate is a plus.
- Possession of a valid state driver's license.
- Possession of a valid Oregon State Journeyman Plumber License.
