Basic Purpose
Major duties and responsibilities will be daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections and daily maintenance at the Petroleum, Oil and Lubricant (POL) facilities. They will also act as Quality Assurance Evaluator on Wing plumbing projects and work within CE to enhance the plumbing shop and assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
Typical Functions
Daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly inspections of POL facilities.
Daily and minor maintenance of POL facilities
Preventative maintenance of all Wing plumbing fixtures and gas lines.
Repairs on all plumbing fixtures, water main breaks and gas lines within the fence line of the 138th FW
Quality assurance Evaluator on local Wing projects

Journeyman
Education and Experience
journeyman plumber’s license or 2 years of experience working under a plumbing contractor with the ability to obtain a Journeyman license within 12 months or hire date.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
Knowledge of the methods, materials, fixtures, tools and equipment used in plumbing work; or standard plumbing techniques; and of job safety measures. Ability is required to maintain and perform minor repairs of various plumbing systems and fixtures; and to follow written and oral instructions.
Special Requirements
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Tier 1 security clearance
  • Travel throughout the state is required with overnight stays.
