The client is a leading seating automotive supplier in the United States. They are known for their high-quality seating components and systems that are supplied to automotive manufacturers. With a strong commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and industry expertise, the client has established a reputable position in the automotive market.


Overview of the role:

As the Platform Director for the seating automotive supplier, you will be responsible for driving the sales strategy and achieving revenue targets. You will play a key role in maintaining and expanding the client's customer base, building strong relationships with automotive manufacturers, and maximizing sales opportunities. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the automotive industry.


Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company sales targets and market share growth. Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive factors to inform the sales strategy.
  2. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key automotive manufacturers, including OEMs and tier-1 suppliers. Understand their requirements, provide technical assistance, address concerns, and act as the primary point of contact.
  3. New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting, networking, and participating in industry events. Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to secure new contracts and partnerships.
  4. Account Management: Manage existing customer accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. Collaborate with internal teams to address customer needs, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of products.
  5. Sales Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve sales targets. Set performance goals, monitor sales activities, and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  6. Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential customers, market trends, and competitive landscape. Use this information to develop targeted marketing campaigns, pricing strategies, and product positioning.
  7. Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Prepare sales forecasts, track sales performance, and provide regular reports to management. Analyze sales data, identify areas for improvement, and recommend strategies to optimize sales performance.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales role within the automotive industry, preferably in seating systems or related products
  • Strategic thinking and analytical abilities to identify market opportunities and develop effective sales strategies
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales reporting tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive market, including OEMs, tier-1 suppliers, and industry trends
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team
