N3bula Systems is seeking a Platform Developer to provide automation for the following system components: Cloud Infrastructure, on-prem Infrastructure and Platform. The candidate will support development of automation processes using Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, among others for remote or local deployments. The candidate will also be responsible for automating the configuration of the RKE2 Rancher environment, as well as potentially assisting developers in converting to a Helm deployment via GitLab CI/CD. This Platform as Code will also need to be deployed using GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
The Platform Developer will function in a small team environment leading system administrators, supporting cybersecurity, software developers, and architecture engineers as part of the development of a cloud infrastructure development project.
Primary Responsibilities
- Automating Platform with scripting and code, including but not limited to:
- Development / deployment of Ansible playbooks
- Deploy Platform as Code using CI/CD pipelines
- Modernizing Puppet code into modules
- Create, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
Composing and leveraging code to define and automate cloud infrastructure (e.g.: AWS CloudFormation templates, Terraform, AWS CDK, etc.) to ensure repeatable, sustainable AWS infrastructure.
- Remediate all security vulnerabilities pertaining to products managed by the team.
- Implement, and measure operational strategies to improve site reliability and availability.
- Automate repeatable and frequent operational processes and procedures.
- Improve and document operational and troubleshooting procedures.
- Infrastructure and application deployment and testing, and documenting development, pre-production, and production environments
- Creating cloud-native CI/CD workflows with tools such as Gitlab, etc.
- Provide technical guidance and training to other team members.
- Support software releases using established automated procedures.

Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen
Must have current DoD Secret Clearance
- Experience with Puppet/SIMP/Ansible
- Kubernetes
- GitLab
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an engineering field
- 6+ years’ experience in Linux Operating Systems
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts
- Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell)
- Willingness to participate in a pair-programming work environment
- Experience with Loki
- Database management: MySQL, PostgreSQL
- Experience with Kubernetes environments
- DoD DevSecOps and Agile principles
- Experience with DevOps tools
- Experience with Grafana
- Candidate should have experience using the following software/tools:

Position Type: Full Time
Location: San Diego, CA (Point Loma) (mostly remote)
Salary Range: $75,000-$130,000
Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
