Job Description

TrafFix Devices, Inc., is a world leading traffic control and crash attenuation products manufacturing company based in San Clemente, CA with manufacturing factories in Adelanto, CA, Fairfield, Iowa and Tijuana, Mexico. We engineer, design and manufacture life saving devices that make the roadways of the world safer.

Job Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. This position is also responsible for managing, coordinating and supervising staff, resources and overseeing the production processes. Analyze data and performance metrics to identify areas of improvement and development strategies for optimizing operations. The Production Manager will lead production teams, identify areas for improvement in production processes, and implement changes to increase productivity. This position will also monitor inventory levels to ensure that materials and supplies are available for production needs.

Essential Functions:

· Oversees personnel management, including hiring, training, and performance management of the production teams.

· Ensure production goals are being met and manufacturing processes are efficient.

· Tracks and updates orders using Syspro.

· Monitors and manages inventory levels to ensure materials and supplies are available for production needs.

· Identifies areas for improvement in production processes and implements changes to increase productivity.

· Leads and motivates production teams to meet production targets and quality standards.

· Ensures compliance with safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

· Works with the Safety Director to maintain safety standards, including proper handling and storage of products.

· Identifies training needs and provides training to employees to improve skills and knowledge.

· Conducts regular reviews of production processes to identify areas for improvement and develops and implements plans to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

· Ensures that products meet quality standards by implementing and monitoring quality control procedures.

· Participates in the training of new employees.

· Drives results by creating a culture of accountability and ownership and balancing rewards and recognitions with coaching and corrective actions.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.

Preferred Education and Experience:

· A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.

· At least five years of managerial experience in a production environment.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

· Physical dexterity: The employee must be able to use a computer and other office equipment, including phones, printers, and scanners. Up to 50% of the employee’s time will spent sitting at a desk using a computer, with the other 50% spent overseeing production work and attending meetings.

· Vision: The vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

· Exposure to elements: The employee will ocassionally enter a warehouse production environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures and inclement weather conditions. There will also be frequent exposure to dirt and dust while in the warehouse.

· Noise level: The employee will be mainly work in an office environment and have minimal noise exposure. However, when in the production environment, the employee will be exposed to a moderate noise levels, due to the constant use of forklifts and production machinery.
