Company Description
- Perform activities for corn trials including planting, watering, tissue sampling, pollination, harvesting, and seed processing
- Willing to obtain a NCDA pesticide applicator license
- Stay current on developments in greenhouse technology through literature, seminars, and workshops
- Able and willing to work during weekends and holidays
- Implement trial protocols and communicate with project teams regarding status of trials
- Design, test and implement innovative ideas and concepts to optimize plant growth and development
- Scout and apply pesticides and biologicals to control diseases and pests
- Make observations and record data in databases and other record keeping tools
- Demonstrated ability and motivation to work in unsupervised situations
- Embrace Syngenta Quality Management and Stewardship Practices
- Ability to perform all physical aspects required in greenhouse activities
- Excellent record keeping skills and demonstrated attention to details
- Functioning as a member of multiple Function Team
- MS office Software Experience is Required
- Must be able to work as needed on Holidays and Weekends
- Excellent knowledge of plant biology, plant physiology and agronomy
- Demonstrated excellence as a team player
- Excellent Interpersonal skills and Communication Skills both Verbal and Written Required
- BS is Required MS degree preferred in agronomic sciences or closely related discipline from an accredited university
- Computer skills such as working with databases and environmental controls
- Understanding of genetics and biotechnologies
- Knowledge of greenhouse equipment and operations
- Prior experience working with major field crops like corn and soybean
- Prior experience working with greenhouse and biotechnology
- Ability to identify plant diseases and pests
- Understanding of project timelines and deliverables
