Job Summary/Overview


Equipment Technicians at Samsung Austin Semiconductor play an essential role in bringing leading edge innovative technology to customers around the world. Samsung Austin Semiconductor is a world-class technology leader with 25+ years of storied history in the Central Texas area.


In this role, you will perform activities involved with the recovery of Photolithography Scanner equipment. Which include preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, equipment improvements, equipment upgrades, and equipment installation actions.


Effective communication, problem solving and teamwork are key attributes expected in this position.

Specific Job Duties


Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:


  • Collect data using standard metrology equipment and report results
  • Problem Solving
  • Change Point management
  • Preventive Maintenance activities including Breakdown Maintenance repairs and recoveries
  • Quality Verification
  • Communication with engineering and manufacturing groups
  • Self-driven with ability to identify and resolve or repair complex issues with electrical and/or optical components
  • Disposition lots, identifying the critical equipment failures that imply bigger problems
  • Safety including 6S principals
  • Equipment Innovation & Metric ownership with focus on driving improvements
  • Data analysis
  • Ownership & Accountability
  • Change Point management
  • Responding to equipment interlocks and diagnosing equipment breakdown


Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required:


2 year technical degree or equivalent Semiconductor/Electronics/Mechanical experience preferred (3+ years experience in Photolithography Equipment Engineering Services)


Military background (if applicable)


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools:


Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to procedure changes.


  • Values customer service, teamwork and flexibility.
  • Must be able to work a compressed workweek.
  • Familiar with TPM and 6S concepts.
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude, Basic understanding of hand tools, pneumatics, and electricity.
  • Detail and task oriented.
  • Demonstrated experience in improving overall maintenance effectiveness including PM success rate, green-to-green improvements, and continuous PM improvements.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance required.
  • Ability to create and execute action plans.
  • Must be able to lift ≤ 60 lbs.
  • High level of initiative and desire to learn.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent critical thinking and planning skills.
  • Work off-hours if necessary.
  • Familiarity with SPC methods and implementation.
  • Focused on continuous improvement in fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to meet due dates for action items.
  • Highly capable in MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Must have strong communication, teamwork, analytical and problem solving skills.
