Seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our interdisciplinary clinical team working with individuals diagnosed with a Serious Mental Illness (SMI) or General Mental Health diagnosis under Court Ordered Treatment at our 23rd Ave Healthcare Clinic.


Full-Time Employed 40 hours/week


Location 23rd Ave & Dunlap Rd. in Phoenix, AZ


Bilingual in Spanish is a plus (Additional Language Differential Pay Available)

Pay starting at $17.18/hour DOE


Under the Agency’s policies and professional requirements, participates as a member of an interdisciplinary clinical team working with individuals diagnosed with a Serious Mental Illness, or General Mental Health diagnosis under Court Ordered Treatment.


As a Peer and Family Support Specialist, you will participate as a member of the clinical team to mentor and provide recovery-based coaching for SMI clients related to their health and wellness goals. This individual also assists in developing plans and tools to create and maintain healthy living. Focus on members pursing goals through direct 11 and group coaching on health and wellness topics such as tobacco cessation, healthy diet and nutrition, health management, and supporting healthy interpersonal relationships.

Duties Include


  • Ability to maintain session structure, including starting and ending sessions in a timely manner.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to establish professional working relationships.
  • Training in DBT, or EMDR, or other Evidence Based Practice preferred
  • Therapist needs to be eligible for their licensed associate counselor or licensed master social worker with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health within 6 months of hire.
  • Child and Adolescent Clinicians Involvement in CFTs, collaboration with child/family, contributes to ISP process.
  • Adheres to confidentiality guidelines.
  • Productivity YTD required and YTD actual.
  • Ability to determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Level 1) or apply for an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card within 7 working days of employment
  • Proactive in attending coordination of care.
  • Must be willing to travel to various locations for work and must have reliable transportation
  • Treatment plans provide clear translation of needs into individual, achievable and measurable objectives.
  • Bilingual desired but not required.
  • Projects a positive, professional image.

  • Record keeping Client’s charts are in compliance with required standards to include – progress notes are completed same day; progress notes reflect evidence-based treatment.
  • Must have or be able to attain CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days of assuming role

  • Must have the ability to perform first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation as necessary and appropriate.
