Position Summary:
Located on the downtown Orlando Health campus, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has been providing compassionate care to the children, teenagers and young adults of Central Florida for more than 30 years. Position Summary:

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children has provided compassionate care to the children, teenagers and young adults of Central Florida for more than 25 years. Led by dedicated physicians, advanced practice providers, specialists and caregivers, Arnold Palmer Hospital offers a wide range of advanced pediatric services in an environment built just for kids.

The Leon Neuroscience Center for Excellence at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking an experienced, Pediatric Behavioral Health and Development Advanced Practice Provider to join their team as we continue our efforts to offer comprehensive pediatric care so children have the opportunity to continue progressing, regardless of injury or disorder. The interprofessional team includes physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, psychologists, and neuropsychologists.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and related therapeutic procedures.
  • Appropriately manage specific developmental and behavioral disorders including, but not limited to, ADHD, Autism, Behavior Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities and medically complex children with developmental delays in collaboration with supervising faculty.
  • Effectively identify, evaluate, treat and follow-up patients in the practice in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Partner with families to provide developmentally appropriate anticipatory guidance for navigating school, outpatient, and home settings.
  • Potential for participation in multidisciplinary clinics, satellite clinic opportunities, medication follow-up appointments, and standardized developmental testing commensurate with experience and interest.
  • Outpatient clinic only (8 clinical sessions per week plus administrative time for coordination of care, patient phone calls, and completion of clinical documentation)
  • Coordinate/collaborate with parents, teachers, and therapists to set children up for success
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Pediatric Primary Care or Pediatric Behavioral Health.
  • Master’s degree or Doctorate degree in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant Studies.
Licensure/Certification:
  • Current active certification and licensure in the State of Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
  • Preference for Certification as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist (PMHNP-BC or PMHCNS)
  • Certified as a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Maintains current BLS and PALS certification.
