Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time Payroll Technician. As a Payroll Technician, you will be responsible for accurately processing employee payroll data, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and maintaining payroll records. This is a very part-time position, requiring a few hours of work per week.


Responsibilities:

- Process employee payroll data accurately and timely, including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.

- Objectively review timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant documentation to ensure accuracy of payroll information.

- Communicate with business owners to provide timesheets for review for approval.

- Calculate and enter payroll deductions, such as taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.

- Generate direct deposits to employees in a timely manner.

- Maintain payroll records, including employee information, pay rates, tax withholdings, and deductions.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and stay up-to-date with any changes in tax laws.

- Prepare and submit payroll reports to clients and management, as required.

- Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.

- Collaborate with clients to resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues.

- Keep confidential employee payroll information secure and maintain data integrity.

- Perform other payroll-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.


Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in payroll processing or accounting is a plus.

- Proven experience working in payroll processing or a related field is preferred.

- Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical aptitude.

- Familiarity with payroll software and systems; experience with ADP, Gusto, QuickBooks Online, and other payroll platforms is desirable.

- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficient computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.

- Availability to work flexible hours based on the payroll processing schedule.


Please note that this is a part-time position, requiring only a few hours of work per week. The schedule and hours will be determined based on the needs of the organization and can be discussed during the interview process.
