Job Description

Responsibilities


Operational and Employee Support for Payroll Activities:


  • Assist with HRIS and email reminders for timesheet submission and approval.
  • Update employee change requests for tax forms and benefits changes.
  • Manage operational support for terminated employees, including unemployment verification.
  • Process new hire uploads, tax information, and direct deposit requests for new employees.
  • Provide relevant change information to other teams.


Proper Payment Distribution


  • Manage ongoing distributions such as remote stipends and insurance payments.
  • Code disability and paid family leave checks for processing.
  • Process one-off requests for employee relocation and tuition reimbursement.
  • Assist in processing retirement contributions and match.


Maintain Accurate Data And Reports


  • Generate ongoing reports for new hires, FSA/DFSA contributions, headcount, and insurance.
  • Maintain timesheet information using Time and Attendance system.
  • Update data for payroll, including executive annuity spreadsheets and exception reports.
  • Transmit and backup payroll files using payroll system.
  • Prepare reports such as open enrollment benefits reconciliation and headcount comparisons.


Ad-Hoc Backup Support


  • Assist with the Variance Report, Overtime report, and SUI Payments.
  • Process payroll payments and upload payroll files.
  • Serve as a backup for tasks in the Associate Director's absence.


Qualifications


  • Knowledge of payroll procedures and system requirements.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and payroll journal entries.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or related experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with others.
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience.
