Position Summary
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for assisting in The Branch Group’s weekly payroll cycle. This position will be part-time and will report to the Payroll Operations Specialist. Duties/Responsibilities
Assists in processing payroll weekly for over 1,000 multi-state employees.

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for assisting in The Branch Group’s weekly payroll cycle. This position will be part-time and will report to the Payroll Operations Specialist. Duties/Responsibilities
Assists in processing payroll weekly for over 1,000 multi-state employees.
- Assists with the BranchPay employee portal. These responsibilities include assisting in initial login and setup for new employees, unlocking locked accounts, granting access to timecards and entering approvers
- Enters employee withholding tax information into the system based on withholding tax forms –Federal withholding (W-4) and state withholding forms (VA-4, NC-4, WV/IT-104 and SC W-4)
- Processes extra payroll cycles from various internal sources for things such as missed hours, special compensation, bonuses, etc., as instructed.
- Ensures that paychecks are distributed according to strict deadlines.
- Helps with the deductions and payments of court orders such as child support orders.
- Responds to requests from Human Resources, Controllers, and Sr. Management.
- Operates as the primary payroll backup when the Payroll Operations Specialist is on vacation or completing a time-consuming annual tasks (ex: preparing year end W-2s, processing ESOP checks, etc). Qualifications
- Monitors or enters hours and expenses turned in by field/office employees for approval and reasonableness, and investigates any unusual items. Ensures that all payroll data entered into our Accounting System is timely and accurate
- Provide payroll customer support to all employees by responding to appropriate payroll questions in a timely fashion
- Does not discuss or disclose confidential information
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to work within deadlines and prioritize tasks in order of importance Competencies Strong Relationships Ownership and Accountability Exceptionalism in all we do Problem Solving/Analysis Prioritizing and Organizing Work Delivering High Quality Work Using Computers and Technology Working with Financial Information Travel
- Having knowledge of payroll tax laws, forms, and principles is preferred
- Proficient capability with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Must be customer service oriented
- Exhibit strong problem-solving, accuracy and attention to detail
