Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support on annual processes as directed such as ACA reporting, 401k audits.
  • Record payroll details for the general ledger and maintain and reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts.
  • Properly maintain payroll, and other accounting files, applying appropriate confidentiality and security protocols.
  • Other administrative duties may include daily and weekly reports, payment processing, maintaining spreadsheets, and special projects as assigned.
  • Review time sheets, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies; verify pay amounts, hours of work, deductions, etc.
  • Accurate and timely processing of biweekly payrolls and ad-hoc off-cycle payrolls using Paycom software. Ensure employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Promotes the organizations culture, mission, and values; ensures quality in all areas and encourages teamwork by training and providing support throughout the organization.
  • Respond to and resolve team member questions regarding payroll pay and deductions.
  • Confirm/verify incentive bonuses.
  • Must possess close attention to detail; identifies and resolves problems or suggestions in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops lawful alternative solutions.
  • Process bi-weekly 401k report to the 401k carrier. Ensures correct deductions for 401k are being taken out and the correct amount of employees contribution are going into the fund.

  • Bachelors degree in Business Management, Finance/Accounting or related course of study preferred. Knowledge of basic accounting principles is highly desirable.
  • Requires a considerable degree of tact, initiative, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Three years experience in payroll and/or accounting required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Payroll system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing using the English language; Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, and governmental regulations; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, applicants, and the general public.
  • Capable of independent work as well as being a team player.
  • Ability to analyze detailed issues, problem solve and recommend solutions for innovative approaches to improving work product.
  • Ability to process a large volume of transactions rapidly and accurately while maintaining confidentiality concerning financial and employee files.
  • Excellent communication skills, Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.
  • Proficient knowledge of payroll practices, including the complex nuances of various pay type applications of time off policies and basic knowledge of federal payroll laws.
