Job Description
The Payment Poster will report to the Payment Posting Manager and is responsible for efficiently identifying payment trends, clearinghouse and software trends, troubleshooting payment issues and running day to day reports for payments and credit/refunds.
Education
Job Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • 1+ Years HCHB and/or other billing software experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of medical billing experience preferred.
Knowledge And Skills
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and PHI guidelines
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • PC knowledge
  • Ability to read and understand EOB's and insurance contracts
  • Excellent keyboarding skills
  • Excellent payment posting and follow-up skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and analytical skills
  • Well-organized with attention to detail
Essential Functions
  • Utilizes reports and maintains spreadsheets for data collection.
  • Works effectively with the practice management system for account maintenance, including management of account information, and invoice adjustments.
  • Monitors daily payments and identify ACH automation for EDI set up.
  • Accurately applies daily batch uploads of ACH, Credit Card and Lockbox payments from banking institution in Cloud based program for payment posters to allocate in EMR System.
  • Manages the workflow of duplicate accounts and correct/merge patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identifies payment trends for possible issues and report to directly to the Reimbursement Manager.
  • Communicates with insurance companies, clearinghouse, and software management companies.
  • Utilizes the resources within the Billing and Financial teams to give accurate accounts of system and payment issues or trends in a timely manner.
  • Performs any other duties as deemed necessary by the Reimbursement Manager that is within the scope of the Reimbursement Department.
  • Participates in miscellaneous special projects determined by management regarding account balance management and related tasks. Uses the reporting system to accurately inspect claims and accounts for applicable corrections and streamline systems applications and reports directly to the Reimbursement Manager.
