Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Support Specialist who will be responsible for facilitating access to life-changing healthcare products. We are looking for someone who is customer-centric, empathetic, and enjoys collaborating in a team environment.
As a Patient Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-level customer service to both internal and external customers. You will work with patients, family members, caregivers, nurses, physicians, pharmacists, and internal colleagues to provide patient access and reimbursement assistance. You will be responsible for identifying and assessing reimbursement coverage options for patients with insurance and investigating financial options for those without insurance. You will work with third-party vendors responsible for benefits verification and coverage requests to ensure timely and accurate information. Additionally, you will collaborate with physician offices and/or pharmacies to facilitate the process of obtaining prior authorization from third-party payers to maximize patients' access to treatment.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with 1+ year of reimbursement and/or customer care experience in a medical, health insurance, pharmacy, or healthcare industry, or a High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of reimbursement and/or customer care experience in a medical, health insurance, pharmacy, or healthcare industry. We prefer candidates with experience in Salesforce, proficiency with Microsoft Suite, data entry experience, and excellent communication skills. Bilingual candidates who are fluent in English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply.
As part of our commitment to creating a culture of inclusion and belonging, we celebrate all dimensions of diversity and believe that it drives excellence and innovation, strengthening our ability to lead in science and technology. We are committed to creating access and opportunities for all to develop and grow at their own pace.
We offer a flexible shift schedule between 8am - 8pm EST and the opportunity to work with a collaborative and supportive team. Join us in building a culture that champions human progress and impacts millions! Please note that we do not offer sponsorship for work authorization, and external applicants must be eligible to work in the US.
