We are hiring a customer-service-focused Patient Services Coordinator (PSC) to join our team. The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for educating new patients about the St. Matthews Pharmacy Program, onboarding and enrolling patients, and delivering prescription medications to patients at an assigned client location. The Patient Services Coordinator also acts as a liaison to St. Matthews Pharmacy's pharmacy, provides information about the St. Matthews Pharmacy Program, and resolves any emerging problems that may arise in assigned client accounts. The Patient Services Coordinator must maintain a high degree of security, ethical conduct, and provide excellent customer service to clients and patients. Laboratory collection responsibilities may also be required, depending on the needs of the client the Patient Services Coordinator supports. The Patient Services Coordinator reports to the Regional Pharmacy Supervisor.
This Patient Services Coordinator role is non- exempt with the compensation range of $16-$19 hour. The schedule for this role is Monday-Thursday, 8a-430p. Must have Sunday availability for as needed coverage. Friday hours will be added to position as clinic volume increases. Please contact us for more information!

Essential Functions
  • Deliver medication to patients seen by the prescriber, per prescriber direction
  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information in portal entries
  • Maintain call, shipping, and medication delivery logs
  • Maintain security of medications
  • Liaise between the pharmacy and client to ensure prescriptions are prepared for delivery based on patients’ schedule, working ahead as-needed
  • Educate potential patients about the St. Matthews Pharmacy Program in detail
  • Receive delivery of patient medications, via courier drop-off or direct pick-up at pharmacy or local shipping carriers
  • Obtain, file, ship, or fax any paperwork associated with the prescription
  • Return undelivered medication and other required documents and monies to the pharmacy at the end of each day
  • On-board and enroll patients into Cordant Pharmacy Program
  • Build strong working relationships and trust with providers, patients and pharmacy staff
  • Answering questions and explaining the benefits of our program to patients
  • Verify patient identity prior to delivery and ensure accurate entry of demographic information
Laboratory Collections
  • Assemble samples for shipping
  • File requisitions, chain of custody forms, and associated paperwork
  • Courier packages from local shipping affiliates to laboratory for testing
  • Collect, log, order, process, and ship urine, blood, oral, and/or hair specimens to laboratory
  • Maintain organization in the collection of all specimens
Additional Duties
  • Follow all procedures, guidelines and policies
  • Pick-up or drop-off prescriptions to pharmacy/FedEx drop site, as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace that is conducive to workflow
  • Provide clear documentation in portal around prescriptions
  • Keep detailed record of client and patient interactions
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • A combination of relevant education and work experience may be accepted to satisfy this requirement
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree advantageous for PSC career path program
  • 2+ years customer service experience, required
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance as a covered driver, required
  • 2+ years experience working in a medical office, preferred
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • High degree of trustworthiness and ethical conduct
  • Self-motivated with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines individually as well as a in a team environment
  • Comfortable approaching and speaking to patients and medical providers
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to actively listen
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read names, test codes, follow basic instructions
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
Physical Requirements
  • Potential contact with biological specimens requiring protective devices
  • Repetitive motions and/or prolonged computer use
  • Must be able to perform observed collections if required
  • Working at a fast pace, subject to many interruptions and both physical and mental stress
  • Sitting & standing for long periods of time
  • Light to moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.) Heavier weights with assistance
