Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Full-Time Patient Care Assistant in our Inpatient Unit.

The Patient Care Assistant assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCA provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned. Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families. Assists with the planning and provision of structured, age appropriate activities for patients under the guidance or direction of a Child Life Therapist. Monitors children’s activities and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment for children.

Education

High School Diploma / GED

Completion of Nurse Aide Program Desired.

Certification/Licensure

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) preferred

Experience

One year of recent acute nurse aide related clinical experience required.

Other

Pediatric and/or orthopedic experience preferred.

BLS for HCP required.

Shriners Children's St. Louis has an opportunity for a full-time / day shift Pediatric Registered Nurse in our Inpatient Unit. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Hours This full-time day shift position works 3/12s and every 3rd weekend.

The Inpatient RN is responsible for the coodination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. This position will provide leadership by acting as an informal and formal leader, preceptor and through quality improvement efforts. Must have excellent communication skills and be skillful in mentoring and teaching.
