Patient Access Guest Relations

The position of Guest Relations Representative is to be the first contact for patients, guests and the general public. This position is responsible for greeting and navigating patients/guests, this is accomplished by means of personal contact or contact via the phone. To provides infection control monitoring per current protocol; aiding patients checking-in for services, and expedites patient flow through the area. To limit the spread of infectious diseases, the Guest Relations Representative will take responsibility for greeting and screening staff, patients, and visitors prior to their starting work or arriving for a scheduled or non-scheduled visit. The screening includes temperature and symptom checking to reduce exposure for other patients and healthcare personnel, prevent the spread of disease within the organization, and help ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is used effectively. General duties include answering the business phones, transferring the calls to the proper location. Announce pages and specific calls for emergency codes. Provide directions to hospital visitors as well as patients, keeping a log of those needing Patient Access Services. This position requires staff to be flexible to work varying shifts and at different locations when needed. This role may also be asked to fulfill additional responsibilities as needed. Regulatory/Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Skills: Basic computer knowledge. Strong communication skills. ** All Southwest Health System positions are subject to a Post Offer-Pre Work Screen.
