Department: Security


Reports to: Security Manager


Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt


Job Overview: Wonders of Wildlife located in Springfield, MO is currently seeking a full time PARK RANGER to work VARIOUS SHIFTS to ensure the safety of our guests and facilities.


Essential Functions


  • Controls traffic by directing drivers.
  • Must be open to working weekends/weekdays/nights when necessary/critical to support the business.
  • Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
  • Must have an approved driving record and operate a company vehicle if required/applicable.
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
  • Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; detects, observes, and reports criminal conduct.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and requests for service.
  • Must be able to cover shifts at affiliate Conservation Attraction properties.
  • Must adhere to all company/department safety standards and policies.
  • Must be open to working mandatory/approved overtime.


MINIMUM Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education


  • Any combination of experience, education, skills, certification(s) etc. will be taken into consideration
  • Must possess valid class E driver's license
  • Requires walking/standing approximately 75% of the time, sitting 10% of the tine, forward bending and crouching 15% of the time, lifting to 50lbs.
  • At least two years related experience and/or training in Loss Prevention, Security, or Law Enforcement.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to sunlight, various animals, weather, loud sounds, low lighting, close quarters, high/low temperatures, etc.
  • Valid driver's license and an approved driving record is required.
