Job Description
Our team at Skedaddle Inc. is hiring immediately for a Package Delivery Driver to deliver boxes in northern Colorado from our delivery station near I-25 and US 34 (Loveland / Johnstown exit). Package delivery drivers on our team earn starting pay of $21.00/hour plus industry-leading benefits including 3 weeks of Paid Time Off, a 401(k) with employer matching, weekly pay, and medical, dental, and vision health benefits.

This package delivery courier job is an outdoors, physical job which requires working at a steady pace with continuous standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting packages weighing up to 150 lbs. As a package delivery driver, you'll need to be prepared to never compromise on safety, be self-motivated to work throughout an 8-11 hour day, and to delight customers by insisting on high standards at every turn. WHERE IS THIS POSITION LOCATED?

This position is based at our delivery terminal near the I-25 and US 34 exit in the Loveland, CO and Johnstown, CO area. We are just a few minutes from Fort Collins and Greeley!

WHEN WILL I WORK?

We have immediate openings for full-time employees to work 4 days a week on a Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri or Mon/Thu/Fri/Sat schedule. Our typical hours are from 8 AM - 6:30 PM.

WHAT ARE THE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FOR A PACKAGE DELIVERY DRIVER?
  • Ability to safely operate a Cargo Van, Cutaway Van, Step Van, or Electric Delivery Vehicle with a weight rating of 10,001 pounds or greater. This position is subject to the regulations of the United States Department of Transportation/Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (DOT/FMCSA), which requires compliance with all applicable DOT/FMCSA regulations, including remaining physically qualified and
appropriately licensed under the regulations to operate a commercial motor vehicle in interstate commerce as evidenced by obtaining and maintaining a current valid medical certificate and driver’s license.
  • Ability to walk, lift, bend, reach above the head, kneel, crouch, twist, and/or stretch during shifts up to 11 hours long
  • Ability to drive in all types of weather
  • Ability to work for 8 - 11 hours per day to complete a full delivery route.
  • Ability to climb up and down stairs frequently throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and sort boxes and packages weighing up to 150 pounds each on a frequent basis
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with members of the public, coworkers, managers, and delivery terminal employees
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English to communicate with the general public, to understand highway
  • Ability to maintain focus and pay attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on
reports and records
  • Ability to timely report for scheduled shifts and maintain reliable attendance
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and satisfaction, despite potentially stressful events/conditions
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision
  • Ability to effectively operate a global positioning system (GPS) navigation system
  • Ability to maintain basic logs and records
  • Ability to use electronic devices for route navigation and planning
  • Ability to successfully handle and timely deliver customer packages
General Responsibilities
  • Interact in a positive and a professional manner with customers and general public while delivering products
  • Follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and Company policies
  • Safely drive and perform safety inspections on Company vehicle
  • Adhere to strict safety and quality standards on and off the road
to customers’ homes, retail, and business locations
  • Keep pace in a physically demanding job
  • Follow up on customer requests or problems with solution-oriented approach, keeping customer informed of
delivery progress
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • May assist in training other team members
  • Where appropriate, carry out in delivery terminal activities including sortation and general tasks
  • Ensure delivery vehicle is clean, fueled, and in good operating condition at all times
  • Provide rescue assistance to other drivers once the driver has completed his/her route for the shift
  • Sort and prepare a delivery route to meet customer expectations
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully
perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Drives a delivery vehicle (cargo van, cutaway van, or electric delivery vehicle) with a weight rating of up to
10,000 pounds to many customer residences and businesses.
  • Climbs in and out of vehicle and walks up and down stairs as required to deliver packages according to
established procedures in all weather conditions.
  • Lifts, carries, and pushes/pulls packages weighing up to 150 lbs.
  • Completes a full delivery route (8 – 11 hours/day). Route and schedule duration may vary and may be
delayed due to traffic from on road congestion, construction, weather conditions, or other factors.
  • Full-time hours consist of 30 – 40 hours a week (8 – 11 hours/day). There may be adjustments including
additional hours and potential schedule changes depending on time of year, peak seasons, and other
factors
