Paratransit Non-Cdl Driver: Part Time / On Call

Have a flexible schedule? Need a part time job? RFTA's Paratrasit is hiring part-time, on-call drivers to help transport disabled passengers to various locations throughout the RFTA Service Area. This is a Paratransit "show-up", part-time position, with no benefits or set schedule available.

ABOUT RFTA Paratransit

RFTA Paratransit is a transportation service available to anyone that has a disability which prevents their having access to transportation available to the general public, in their area. The program provides accessible, curb-to-curb, demand-responsive, driver assisted transportation to areas served by the RFTA Paratransit Group.

OVERVIEW OF JOB DUTIES: (See detailed for additional information and requirements)

Operates a Paratransit (cutaway) vehicle to transport disabled passengers to various locations throughout the RFTA Paratransit Group Service Area. Must adhere to the Paratransit "On-Call" policy for operators

Essential Duties

• Performs pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting vehicle conditions and ridership numbers;
• Assists passengers, as needed, at pick-up, as well as into and out of passengers' destinations;
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Paratransit Supervisor; and
• Ensures that each passenger is safely secured in his or her seat before transporting begins;
• Ensures that passengers have a safe, comfortable, and expedient traveling experience;
• Documentation of days' pick-ups and drop offs.
• Assists passengers, as needed, with boarding and de-boarding the Paratransit vehicle;
• Collects applicable fees for the transportation service;

Qualifications And Job Requirements

• Paratransit Bus Operator Training (provided by Paratransit personnel prior to first "show-up" assignment)
• Some experience working with seniors and/or disabled persons is preferred.
• Successful completion of a Department of Transportation medical exam, validated by documented Medical Card that is valid for a minimum of 1 year of duration.
• Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License - CDL NOT REQUIRED

SALARY RANGE: Starting Wage at $22.00 per hour. Hourly wage range between $23.63 and $30.98.

LOCATION: Postitions currently start in Glenwood Springs, but must be willing to start anywhere in RFTA Service area. Location is in the Paratransit service areas; work hours are complementary to RFTA bus service hours.
