Paraprofessional Jobs

Job Summary:A Paraprofessional assists teachers in the elementary classroom, supervise students outside of the classroom, or provide administrative support for teaching. Reports to:Classroom teacher and PrincipalEssential Job Functions:

• Responsible for guiding any enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the classroom teacher.
• Responsible for assisting the classroom teacher in the instruction of an individual student including assistance in the laboratories, washrooms, playgrounds, gymnasiums, lunchrooms, libraries, field trips and all other educational settings as determined by the classroom teacher.
• Assists individual students in any testing.
• Provides reinforcement to individual of direct material initially taught by the classroom teacher.
• Assists in lunch, recess and dismissal duties.
• Assist the student and teacher in the areas of classroom management and instructional support.
• Performs other duties as may be necessary and assigned by the classroom teacher and/or Principal.
• Provides classroom coverage as needed.
