Job Description

Aware Recovery Care (ARC) offers a holistic approach to treatment and changes the way clients receive care throughout the country. ARC is a year-long, home based, addiction treatment program that works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assist clients in their first year of recovery.

Position Summary for a Paralegal The Paralegal is responsible for supporting the corporate legal department in various business matters concerning the department and the company’s services and business operations under the general supervision of the Legal Operations Manager/Senior Paralegal. This position must be prepared by education and experience to exercise professional judgment for the legal, regulatory, and business needs of the company. This position requires strong communication (written and verbal) and computer skills, as well as the ability to be creative and take initiative to perform duties with consistently high levels of competency, accuracy, and sound judgement.
This position must be able to work with limited immediate supervision, but take direction from the licensed attorneys, the Legal Operations Manager/Senior Paralegal, and work within a team environment.   • Assist corporate legal team in preparing and maintaining a variety of corporate documents, correspondence, and agreements, maintenance of corporate forms, entity filings, stock certificates and related shareholder agreements, and maintenance of corporate minute books.
  • Provide administrative support to the corporate legal team, including but not limited to, basic administrative office tasks.
  • Conduct internal investigations and operational audits as assigned, as well as report findings.

  • Assist corporate legal team with litigation case management and strategy, including responding to discovery and subpoenas, and working directly with outside counsel on such.

  • Support the operational needs of the corporate legal department of the company, including but not limited to, implementation of technology and productivity / improvement initiatives, and development of standard operating procedures.
  • Research and review case law, statutes and regulations and prepare memorandum, policies, agreements, or other writings related to such research.
Required Skills Education: Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or certification in paralegal studies at least five years of paralegal experience may be considered in lieu of degree or certification Experience: Minimum of three years’ paralegal experience Experience working in a corporate legal department or in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred. Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) is required. Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g. WestLaw, Lexis) is required. Proficiency in eDiscovery, contract management, and legal management software is preferred. Other Requirements: Strong writing and research skills are required. Knowledge of corporate governance structure, contract administration, and general rules of civil procedure preferred.
