General Summary:
The Pallet Inspector is responsible for inspecting and separating CHEP pallets that are in need of repair and placing them on the palamatic line ready to be picked up by the forklift in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, and productivity, in addition to adhering to CHEP's quality criteria. Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)
Pallet Inspector/Palamatic Operator:
Ø Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards.
Ø Manually lift 70 lbs. pallets from a stack to a rolling line; in addition lift the pallets for inspection and separation utilizing the palamatic machine.
Quality:
Ø Ensure that proper inspection and separation is met.
Inventory:
Ø Conduct physical inventories as required.
Safety and Security:
Ø Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Ø Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
Ø Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
Ø Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
Ø Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Ø Ability to operate power equipment in a safe manner
Ø Must be able to follow inspecting process
ØMust be able to work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting.
Nonnegotiables:
Ø Must be able to lift and move up to 70 lbs.
ØComprehend basic math.
Physical Requirements:
Ø Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ø Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8 hour day).
Ø Able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.
